Spring!

Spring is finally here! And we are so thankful that this long winter is over. Yes we froze to death in the old house, but we are keeping the dream alive. I checked the upper attic of the main house, and discovered there is literally no insulation in it. Not a surprise really. Hopefully before it gets too hot I will be able to put down a good layer.
A week ago we had an electrician come in and help us finish the middle bedroom upstairs. I can do simple electrical work, but this was a little confusing since I had not run the wire myself and wasn't sure what was going on. The past owners had wires run to the outlets and ceiling, but had not been completed. Now we have a wonderful ceiling fan, and outlets throughout. Thanks Chris!
In a few days we will be having the front porch power washed in preparation for some repair in a few columns and a new paint job. Can't wait! The porch is 540 sq feet, and has a major impact on the home. The weather is getting me in the mood for some renovation! I'm looking forward to weeks of plain old hard work, blisters, scrapes and the occasional gouge. Not to mention the aches and pains, but I love every minute of it! My favorite part is when it's done, and I can sit a spell and enjoy this lovely porch.
